[The Heist I]

Impressive Sound Sync

I had to take a look at your work after that great review you gave us and I was pleasantly surprised... I really enjoyed this flash. Tyler and I both are fans of Morricone's "Untouchables" theme and you put to good use here. I thought it was amazing how well the scenes complimented the music. In my experience, sound syncing in Flash that works this well is extremely difficult. Any secrets you can share? In addition, I really felt the tension in the silent characters as they rushed to commit their crime. Each scene was carefully considered, effective and well crafted. 'Hope to see a "Heist II" soon.

[ I don't check my reviews often, sorry for the belated reply. ]

Anyway, I'm no flash wiz, I work with a camera, but I try to apply the principles of film to some of my flash movies. This was made in late 02, and my other 2 lackluster flicks were made in early 03. I'm really glad that people enjoyed this, considering I made the heist as my entry movie in flash. I had started to develope The Heist II, but school always seems to get in the way. :(

I love how involved you guys have become with your audiences, and that says alot about how much you care. AIM me some time, I'd love to talk. Plus, if you ever get forums on your site, I'd gladly participate regularly.

Warm Fuzzy

A nice, warm piece of work. This would do very well with a young audience I'll bet. The colors are cheerful and the action is constantly mild. The characters are lovable and well portrayed. Even though you might have thought the beginning was too cute, I think it was important to develop the characters' personalities and relationships. The graphics are nicely done. I have to agree with Justicles on many of the points he made concerning the timing and animation. I think there is room for improvement. The part where the blue robot transforms into an angel robot was a little hard to understand. I think you could have made that part a little more clear. There were a few other transition points that were a bit confusing as well. Again, timing issuees... The music was appropriate but I also think you could have used a few more sound fx. Over all, I enjoyed it. Despite its flaws, you told a good story effectively. It even had a moral. It took me back to the days of Care Bears. Nice work.

I think with the angel bit the problem was that he had to keep moving.
It would be cool if some kids could see this...

Very underated

I loved this... The artwork needs some work and the story needs a few kinks worked out. But overall this is a great production. You need vocals for the talking and you need to learn how to master your sound, your music levels were all off, I could barely hear them. This cartoon will be blammed I think, but don't be discouraged... most people will not watch it to the end like I did. I really liked it. Keep posting and keep in mind my advice.

thanks man its bout time i got some advice instead of just telling me how shit it was so they feel big. it was my first time using flash and it was just for a project at school so thats why it goes for so long and why the graphics arent very good. im re-doing it and trying to learn how to use flash coz im no good at it so hopefully that version will go better. cheers

Horrible

Quite possibly the worst song I have ever heard. Horrible sound quality. Loader didn't work! The only thing funny about this flash, was how bad it was.
