Nice sounding stuff

Though on the shorter side, I really like this beat. It pounds hard and gives you a rest at that short little bridge. Good effects balancing and mastering as well. Overall this should be longer and should be played in a club somewhere, it is good enough for that. At least I think so. Good job, looking forward to hearing more.

JohnLeprechaun responds:

Thanks! Of course, it's only short because it's a demo. The full song is longer.

Clean sounding

Nice crisp lead sound. This hammers pretty hard and the beat is keeping me movin. I'm looking forward to the finished song. Be sure to let me know when it is up :)

Thank you very much for your review! :D I shall let you know the minute I put the final version up. :)

Nice piano playing.

Very nice piano playing. Your voice sounds like it is suffering from "in a tin can" issues. A better Mic and adding some reverb to the voice would have helped very much. Even just adding reverb would be better than leaving it dry like that. I really enjoyed listening to this. Good job. Now add effects to your voice :)

ThunderHorseL responds:

Will do man, the mic i have is definitely not good enough to record, but i have to lol.

Very nice.

Gave you boost. I liked this tune, very high BPM but has an uplifting nature about it I had to let you know I heard in it. I'm not a huge fan for pounding drums like that, but I really dug the melody and hope you elaborate on this tune and polish it up a bit. Good job!

DDman465 responds:

Most of what I listen to has a high rate of BPM, so it just comes natural. However I did lower the BPM before I uploaded, must've not saved it beforehand. I don't have the best headphones to work with (No sub bass), but I did kinda think the kick was a bit over powered. Thank you for the review and especially the criticism.

Very cool epic sounding piece

It takes a minute (really) at 1:00 the song takes off. Kind of a long intro, but I really like the sounds you used. Sounds like you were experimenting a bit with drums and percussion and you did so with success. The feeling of this tune is that of desperation and sadness with suspense as to an event that is about to happen as well. Nice story telling with your themes! Thank you for sharing this with us. :)

Called the experimenting. i'm trying to get a tribally, more syncopation type sound from my music. i found the high pitched timpanis work well.

Nice job

Nice job on this. This sounds like some of The Cure or Depeche Mode stuff from the 80's. Thank you for sharing with us, this was a fun song to listen to. :) Nice quality sounds and you sing well too!

Vertigo103 responds:

awsome im glad you enjoyed it

Very calming

Very nice piano playing here. I was tired before this song, now I need sleep :) This belongs on an easy listening album. Thanks for sharing with us.

Celtic Overture
You definitely need an instrument with more attack for the lead. That string instrument that you used sounds like it would be more suited towards rhythm. The second lead instrument was better, but had a lot of vibrato built into its sustained sound.
When the song broke into full orchestra, that was AWESOME. Better strings and horns, but still a tad cheesey due to the fake sounding nature. But still, I love half of this song, when it broke into full sound, that was great. I liked the pleasant undertone of light percussion, good job there. Very Irish sounding and definitley belongs in the realm of folk music.
Overall: This song met the criteria of the contest and fits well in the folk music genre.

Yup, the full orchestra section was the first part, and my favorite part, that I had written for that piece. Overall, after doing spots here and there for a few weeks I found myself cramming in the final few days trying to finish and overlooking some major details when it came to the production of it. Thanks for the review!

I did not like the intro. After the intro the melody is fantastic however. The intro melody clashes a bit with its notation. I really felt like the success of this piece would have been so much better had there been clearer instruments. The ones chosen seem to have vibrato built into the sustaining of the notes and it tends to mud up the harmonies and melody a tad. The percussion was AMAZING.
Overall this was a good song and met the criteria of the contest for sure. I was tapping and swinging to the beat/melody.

Breed responds:

Yeah the intro melody gets off on a bad start right away. It's my biggest regret in this piece. Absolutely right about the bagpipes and fiddle clashing and muddying even more during its sustained vibrato too. Thanks for the great review!

Nice song!

Very nice. Was movin around to this song. Very entrancing beat and I really dug your soft synths, they had a neat soft feeling to a hard edge style of music. The leads that bust out in the middle feel a bit out of place, but still maintain the cool melody. Overall, great tune here :)

Kieda responds:

Thanks :D I guess I should figure out what leads are "in the middle" now... hmm...

Thanks for the review (:

Much of the flash work done in the past 5 years has been at a professional level, so we are sorry not much has been posted on Newgrounds. FR 3 is still a project that we will see through to completion SOMEDAY. :)
